Windlab welcomes the support from the Member of Parliament for the seat of Herbert who yesterday spoke in favour of both Windlab’s Kennedy Wind Farm and the CuString transmission line. The planned line running between Townsville and Mt Isa will allow this site to deliver renewable energy to the National Market. Speaking in support of the Renewable Energy Amendment Bill 2010, in itself a vital bill for the wind energy sector in Australia, Mr Peter Lindsay, said that ‘the North West Queensland Mineral Province could become a world leader in renewable energy generation’ and noted the powerline was a top priority for North Queensland. Windlab’s Kennedy Wind Farm has the potential to supply 700MW of clean electricity, equivalent to 300,000 homes.
